Kinnane Elected to Record 15th Term in Top Job

GRAFTON Women's Hockey Association stalwart Cheryl Kinnane was elected to a record 15th term as president at the AGM on Tuesday night.

Cheryl, whose contribution to hockey in Grafton is immeasurable, was elected unopposed.

Other positions were filled as follows: senior vice-president Robyn Anderson; junior vice-president Trudie Schultz; secretary Janelle Pole; assistant secretary Di Mitchell; treasurer Peg James; assistant treasurer Marg Pearson; competition registrar Di Mitchell; assistant comp registrar Chris Kelly; equipment officer Chris Williams Matthes and Chris Danvers; publicity Robyn Anderson; rep officer (held over); carnival Albion Angels; coaching Deb Morrison, Karen Duroux, Leisa Thompson, Janette Blair, Mel Gaddes; finance treasurer assistant Chris Kelly, Yvonne Cameron, Liz Weller; fixtures Carol Inmon, Mary Day, Wendy Jackson; grading Trudie Schultz, Yvonne Cameron, Janelle Pole, Leisa Thompson, Karen Duroux; primary Lyn Newby, Kerry Barton, Janine Duroux; selectors Leisa Thompson, Karen Duroux, Kerry Barton, Janette Blair; umpires Cheryl Kinnane, Vickie Munns, Robyn Anderson, Lyn Newby, Teena McLaren, Janette Blair; uniforms Yvonne Cameron, Heidi Teare, Donna Pate; public officer Peg James.

Retiring secretary Judy Pollock was thanked for all her hard work as secretary for the past 11 years.

The new committee will take over their duties next year.

Richey picked again

TWO weeks ago I wrote about rising Grafton hockey star Madeleine Richey's time in Darwin as part of an indigenous selection training camp.

Good news for Madeleine - she was one of 17 indigenous players named in the Australian Sports Commission's National Talent Identification and Development squad (NTID), which aims to identify and develop athletes for the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Keep it up, Madeleine.
