Big Business to Chip in Their Share; Support by Young People to the Community Has Impressed CEO So Much He Wants .

BREAKFAST will be much more than Coco Pops and Cornflakes this morning for around 80 business and community representatives from the Northern Rivers area who will share their first meal of the day with World Vision's chief executive officer, the Reverend Tim Costello.

As part of his visit to the region, Rev Costello visited schools in the Byron Bay area yesterday. Afterwards he told The Northern Star he was constantly impressed with the attitude of young people in regards to the need for social responsibility and giving to the community."Young people have worked out that we need a global ethic now that we are living in a global village," he said. "They know that if we press down in one area, it comes up in another.

"Young people are working out how to deal with climate change and how to stop poverty."

Rev Costello will speak on business philanthropy and the increased need for it in Australia, and will join with The Northern Star to help raise funds for the Lismore Soup Kitchen via the early morning event at Miss Lizzy's. …
