THE Circus has rolled into town to take part in the Bank Holiday Weekend extravangaza of Stockton's Summer Show.

And organisers are confident this year's event at Preston Park will not fall foul of the weather. The 2008 show was cancelled after Teesside was hit by heavy downpours, which left the ground at Preston Park sodden.

This year's event, from Friday, to Monday, runs from 10.30am to 5pm each day and features family fun and entertainment with activities for all.

Take your pet on Saturday for the show's very own version of C-RUFTS, with prizes for the best puppy, most handsome dog and much much more.

The event also sees the return of the free 500-seat Festival Circus back by popular demand.

Talented trapeze artist Sven Hopla has travelled from Western Australia to take part in the circus.

The 30-year-old said: "Circuses are much better appreciated over here than in Australia where they are more into the sports than the arts. …
