I hear the complaint all the time: "No good musical acts ever come to Jacksonville."

Consider this: So far in 2009, at least a dozen Rock and Roll Hall of Fame acts have played in Northeast Florida, and a handful of others have booked local shows for the next few months.

- Allman Brothers Band, June 5 at Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park. Bill Kreutzmann of the Grateful Dead and Jorma Kaukonen of Jefferson Airplane also played.

- Steely Dan, June 18 at St. Augustine Amphitheatre

- Ratdog (with Bob Weir of the Grateful Dead), July 19 at St. Augustine Amphitheatre

- Jackson Browne, Aug. 7 at St. Augustine Amphitheatre

- Crosby, Stills and Nash, Aug. 23 at St. Augustine Amphitheatre

We're not sure if you can buy them in the U.S., but a European firm is selling water-soluble bikinis over the Internet. Apparently they look just like a regular bikini, but after about three minutes in the water, the strings holding them together dissolve. …
