Nerves Grow While Beutel Shapes Plan

BROTHERS Under-18 coach Jai Beutel has admitted to butterflies in the lead-up to Sunday's grand final against Goodna.

Brothers surprised many with the way they dismantled minor premiers West End to the tune of 30-8 last weekend.

The question now is whether they can lift themselves to such heights again.

"They'd want to," Beutel said.

"There is nothing worse than making the grand final after a good win then getting dusted."

The secret to avoiding that prospect is not letting the players get carried away.

Beutel sensed they had done just that following their round 17 win over South Burnett.

"After South Burnett they thought it was all good, that they'd earned another shot at the final," Beutel said.

"There was a little bit of discipline needed here and there."

Of more importance was how they responded to Beutel's words.

"It didn't take much, which was a good sign," he said.

Brothers have one win from four meetings against Goodna this season, in round 15. …
