MY PARTNER and I tried the restaurant at Hunley, Hotel and Golf Club as we had heard good reviews about the food.

Situated close to the Heritage Coast at Brotton, Hunley has amazing views which allow you to relax as soon as you are seated by the friendly staff.

I chose a home potted salmon and crab, tarragon and lime butter, rye bread starter and it was delicious. My partner thoroughly enjoyed his choice the chef's soup of the day, tomato and basil.

You could really taste the freshness of the ingredients in my main course of grilled sea bream fillet with Cajun lime seasoning, wilted Northumbrian leeks and saffron and tomato dressing - delicious.

My partner was delighted with his more traditional choice of mint and redcurrant rump of lamb served with rosemary baby roast potatoes which was perfectly cooked.

We decided to share a dessert of sticky toffee pudding served in butterscotch sauce with vanilla pod ice cream. …
