TIE a yellow ribbon to add your voice to the push to bring back plans for the Coast's new public hospital to be built by 2014.

The Sunshine Coast Uni Hospital Action Group will lead a march on to the new hospital site, where 450 yellow ribbons will be tied to the surrounding fence.

The group is fighting the state government's decision to push back completion of the hospital from 2014 to 2016.

SCUHAG chair Jean Gleed said the amount of ribbons would represent the numbers of public beds the hospital would bring.

She said the message that the beds were for the young or injured as much as for the old and the sick did not seem to be getting through.

"When you are young and hurt you ... will want your family around you, but that's hard to do when you are in a Brisbane hospital bed," Ms Gleed said.

The group will march on to the hospital site, off Kawana Way, on November 8.
