ON YOUR marks, get set...the 2009 Tees Pride 10k is less than one day away.

Race organisers were making the final preparations today for the race, which is set to be just as popular as previous years.

They also wanted to reassure runners who have registered but not received their packs that they can still race, just get there early on the day.

More than 3,000 took part in 2008 - meaning each year the Middlesbrough 10k has grown to become a standout fixture on the North East's sporting calendar.

Middlesbrough Council chiefs are hoping tomorrow's race will be the biggest ever, and even though it is too late to enter the 10k now, you can still go along and enjoy a day of first-class family entertainment.

Jimmy Wattis, who is in charge of the mammoth effort, said: "We're really pleased with how many people in Teesside and across the country have shown an interest in this year's race.

"All that's left to do know is see everyone on the starting line on Sunday morning. …
