AFTER losing by a single point in controversial circumstances to Bundaberg Brothers last weekend, the Hervey Bay Bombers were more determined than ever to claim a spot in the grand final.

The team didn't disappoint.

The Bombers played with guts and determination in their preliminary final against Across the Waves on Saturday, winning the match 20.16.136 to 6.6.42.

Bombers coach Corey Goldie said while the two teams had battled it out early in the contest, the resounding victory was extremely satisfying for the Bombers.

"We had a good win - our form is red hot at the moment."

Brent Dean kicked five goals for the Bombers on the weekend while Goldie kicked four.

Scott Gillie kicked three goals, Terry Brereton kicked two and James Falkenberg also kicked two.

Best on ground for the Bombers were Johnny Neshoda, Jason McConnell, Goldie, Jamin Tietz, Bradley Wex, Dean and Falkenberg.

Goldie is hoping for a repeat of his team's impressive performance when they line up against Brothers in the final match of the year on the weekend. …
