HEAD coach Geoff Cook expects Durham to come out all guns blazing in tomorrow's crucial LV County Championship clash with Nottinghamshire at the Riverside.

Cook's men go into their final championship home clash of the campaign holding a 27-point lead over their visitors.

Durham also have a game in hand on their second-placed opponents - and could clinch the title for a second year if results go their way.

The Riversiders will be champions again by Saturday unless Notts take five more points from the match than they do or third-placed Somerset claim 11 more at Taunton against Lancashire.

Cook said: "The match against Nottinghamshire will be crucial.

"It is important we are nailed on and tuned in for this match and playing good positive, aggressive cricket from the first ball."

Cook admitted he was irritated by the rain washing out last week's Championship match against Somerset, which ended in a draw.

He added: "The rain was very frustrating and we had to work very hard to get into a strong position in the game. …
