NOW there's no excuse for Gladstone residents not to work up a sweat and get moving.

Gladstone Regional Council has installed 11 new exercise stations to enhance the fitness trail that winds itself around the park opposite the duck ponds.

Fitness enthusiast John Roeser has recently lost 14kg using the fitness trail and is thrilled with the council's installation of the new exercise stations.

"It's fantastic what the council has provided," he said.

"There's no excuses now. If you don't have the pocket money for the gym or a babysitter, this is just great."

Mr Roeser said the equipment was easy to use and could be used by people of all ages.

"It's good to see the elderly out here," he said. "It's a great place to bring the family."

There is something for everyone with light impact exercises, cardio activity stations and your "hard stuff like the chin-ups and sit-ups."

"There is not one piece of equipment I hate - I like it all," said Mr Roeser. …
