ROBERT GREEN admits West Ham's poor display at Wigan Athletic on Saturday ended his post-World Cup qualification high.

The Hammers keeper was in fine form for his country during last week's demolition of Croatia to seal England's spot at next year's World Cup finals in South Africa.

But he could not keep out Wigan at the DW Stadium as a Hugo Rodallega finish in the second-half sank Gianfranco Zola's side.

Green, who produced a superb save from Jason Koumas just seconds before Rodallega followed up, was disappointed afterwards.

He said: "The result does put a dampener on it because what you do with your club reflects on what you do internationally.

"Wednesday was undoubtedly one of the highlights of my career.

"You want to take the guys here on to another level from the experiences you've had with England and we didn't do that."

Zola's men are not getting the results this season against sides they have defeated in previous years. …
