gareth.lightfoot@eveninggazette.co.uk A BOTCHED burglary which left two housemates "scared rigid" has put a repeat offender behind bars once again.

Jermaine Haslam, 32, was on a "quest for drugs" and thought he was

raiding a dealer's house on Lonsdale Street, Middlesbrough, a court heard. But he got the wrong house and subjected two innocent men to a terrifying ordeal.

He berated the residents saying: "Give us some hash then I''ll be on my way", prosecutor Matthew Bean told Teesside Crown Court.

Ian Briggs, 19, was in a "blind panic" after he awoke at 9am to see Haslam in his bedroom doorway saying: "Give me your money."

Haslam said to fellow householder 22-year-old Anthony Hutchinson: "I don't like your attitude. Do you know who I am? You don't know what I'm capable of."

The intruder walked around and stole a Playstation from the bedroom of a third housemate. Then Haslam went to Athol Street where he was caught smashing the window of a French polisher's car. …
