On the doorstep

OFFICERS investigating a crashing noise just after 1am on Sunday morning found a station wagon had collided with the median strip just outside the Coffs Harbour Police Station.

Coffs Harbour police spoke to the driver, a 40-year-old man, after his Commodore wagon collided with the median strip at the intersection of Grafton and Moonee Streets.

The driver refused breath analysis and failed to supply a sample for blood analysis.

He was arrested and issued with a suspension notice for refusing breath analysis.

Police said due to his level of intoxication he was unable to comprehend the bail process so he was detained overnight. He was released on unconditional bail yesterday.

Over egged

FIVE Coffs Harbour boys were detained by police after officers received a number of calls reporting eggs being thrown at vehicles on the Pacific Highway near Macauleys Headland Drive.

Sgt Greg Peronchik Coffs Harbour Police said a motorist helped police searching the area and as a result five 16 and 17-year-old boys were detained, taken to the police station and their parents contacted. …
