Disqualified Driver Caught on the Road Twice in 14 Days

IAN Richardson suffers a hereditary illness which has slightly stunted his growth.

And the only time he gets to feel equal to everyone else is when he's behind the wheel of a car.

But he's a disqualified driver who should not have been driving at all.

He was caught disqualified driving twice in 14 days during June, by the same police officer who recognised him.

Richardson, 27, pleaded guilty in the Mackay Magistrate's Court on Friday to two disqualified driving charges.

The first incident occurred on the Bruce Highway near Bloomsbury at 6.45pm on June 11, prosecutor Constable Tania Cutler said.

A police officer, who knew Richardson was disqualified, stopped him and he admitted straight away that he shouldn't have been driving.

He said he was travelling from Mackay to Townsville to visit a friend.
