MOVE over Bundy Bear - a new brewer from the rum city is tickling the taste buds of alcohol aficionados across the country.

One of Bundaberg brewer Andrew Clark's brews will soon be on tap at one of Brisbane's premier beer and wine bars after he swept the Queensland Amateur Brewing Championships last weekend.

And one of Australia's top beer judges has no doubt the brew will be a sensation for beer lovers across Australia.

Ian Watson, who has judged thousands of beer competitions in his career, gave Mr Clark's Wood-Aged Beer the highest score he has ever handed out when judging the Queensland Championship last weekend.

"When I judge, I judge the home brew beer as if it is commercial beer, and Andrew's beer was well and truly at the high-end of any beer on the market," Mr Watson said.

"The mark I gave the (Wood-Aged Beer) was the highest I have given any amateur beer, maybe even any commercial beer."

Mr Watson judged the beer a 46-out-of 50, but conceded he left the contest "wondering if I had been too harsh. …
