DENTISTRY is his chosen university career path and with the help of Sunderland High School, he is set to follow it.

Paul Vaughan was able to achieve two As and a B to secure his place at Leeds University, thanks to his own determination supported by the strong guidance, teaching and resources provided by the school science department.

He said: "I am absolutely delighted. My dad and uncle are dentists and I can't wait to follow in the same path."

Rebecca Watkin now has the career of her dreams ahead of her after achieving three As and a B and taking up her place to study medicine at Durham University.

Hard-working Danielle Johnsen also managed to reach her goal, despite becoming ill days before her exams. Danielle, 18, said she became ill with what doctors thought was a chest infection then suffered an allergic reaction to her antibiotics. She was worried she hadn't got the grades she needed but was absolutely thrilled to achieve three As in French, German and Business and can't wait to get to Aston University, Birmingham, to take up her place to study international business studies with French and German. …
