Five favorite songs

- "Moon River," Henry Mancini/Johnny Mercer (the Audrey Hepburn version from "Breakfast at Tiffany's"): Songs about water, rivers and oceans, bring me a melancholy peace, not to mention the concept of a "huckleberry friend."

- "O Holy Night (Cantique de Noel)": This is one of the first songs I ever sang in church with my mentor and choir director from Fletcher High School, Barnes E. Sale. This is a powerful song in melody and dynamics. I never grow tired of hearing it.

- "Dream On," Aerosmith: It was 1973 when this song was released, and I was a junior in high school. This rock anthem has a new appeal as I grow older. Steven Tyler, to me, represents the epitome of rock singing. …
