A TERMINALLY-ill mum is desperately waiting for a lung transplant which would give her more precious time with her family. Angela Bernardelli, of Whitley Bay, has been told she has just two years to live.

But if she has a lung transplant she could have another 10 years with her three children and baby grandaughter. Angela, who is in her early 40s, is on a waiting list of 300 people in the North East desperate for the lifesaving swap op.

The former hairdresser has been diagnosed with a rare lung disease which causes abnormal cells to grow out of control, destroying tissue and often leading to collapsed lungs.

She is appealing for people to sign up to the organ donor register to give people like her hope of seeing their children grow up.

Angela is desperate for more time with her children, Anna, 18, Daniel, 11, a pupil at Marden Bridge Middle School, and Faye, eight, a pupil at Rockcliffe First School, and her grandaughter, Lillie, four months. …
