Hughton: Shuffle May Be Needed

NEWCASTLE UNITED boss Chris Hughton may have to reshuffle his back four in the Magpies' next test of their Coca-Cola Championship title credentials against Queens Park Rangers on Wednesday night.

The caretaker manager was forced to take off pounds 10million centre-back Fabricio Coloccini and in-form Ryan Taylor during the 4-0 romp at Ipswich and both are doubts for the game with the Rs.

And there is also a chance that right-back Danny Simpson remains on the sidelines with the Manchester United loanee still not 100% fit after suffering an ankle injury against Plymouth Argyle nine days ago.

But Hughton is hoping that he can rely on Argentine winger Jonas Gutierrez who is battling to be fit for both Newcastle's next two league games and Argentina's do or die World Cup qualifiers with Peru and Uruguay next month.

Hughton told the Chronicle today: "As ever we will be assessing everybody as we go along.

"Ryan has been suffering with a little tightness in his calf and is a doubt. …
