An exhibition opens on Saturday on the final years of the completion of the Byker Wall Estate in Newcastle from the late 1970s to the early 1980s.

The Changing Byker exhibition will be wrapped up on October 11 with a public debate to decide if the original vision for the now world-famous development has been achieved and what the future holds.

The debate is at 2pm in St Michael's Church on Sunday, October 11, and several of the wall's architects will attend.
