The Jaguars' pass defense is ranked last in the league, but their rush defense, ranked 14th, might get the bigger test on Sunday.

Tennessee brings in the league's No. 2 rushing offense, led by running backs Chris Johnson and LenDale White.

"They present a tremendous challenge for us," Jaguars defensive coordinator Mel Tucker said. "They have an excellent offensive line. They do a great job of running the ball.

"They're not going to allow your safeties to blow up the running game, so our corners are going to have to do a good job."

Although the Jaguars allowed only three points in the second half against the Texans, they're 25th in overall defense. But Tucker said he's not frustrated by that ranking.

"I don't get frustrated. We're going to stick to our plan," he said.


Veteran offensive tackle Tra Thomas, who is practicing this week at right tackle because of the injury to rookie Eben Britton, said he's gotten over his frustration about losing the starting left tackle job to rookie Eugene Monroe.

"That's something I dealt with early," Thomas said. "There was a little frustration at first."

Thomas said he's settled into his role as a mentor for the young players. Even though he appeared frustrated on the field last Sunday, he said, "There wasn't any frustration on my behalf."


Titans coach Jeff Fisher, noted for needling the Jaguars in the past, isn't saying anything brash with his team 0-3.

"We've always respected the Jaguars," he said.

But his players are filling the void.

Linebacker Keith Bulluck advised fantasy league players to bench Maurice Jones-Drew this week because the Titans' second-ranked run defense has to slow him down.

And defensive back Nick Harper said that wide receiver Torry Holt is no longer an elite player. …
