We're Just So Relieved Samina Has Been Found; Teen's Family Tells of Joy after Huge Search

THE FAMILY of a missing Teesside schoolgirl breathed a "big sigh of relief" after she turned up safe and well in South Yorkshire.

Fifteen-year-old Samina Mohammed, from Acklam, Middlesbrough, triggered a major police search when she disappeared on Thursday.

Thursday.

In a bid for leads, the family held a press-call at Middlehaven Police Station in Middlesbrough yesterday afternoon - a day after she was seen leaving home for school.

Her uncle, Manzoor Mohammed, said at the time: "The family are devastated. All we want if for Samina to return home safe and well -she's nothing to fear."

She was last seen heading towards Coniston Shops on Acklam Road. Her school, Acklam Grange, worked closely with police during the search. She emerged in Sheffield at about 3.45pm yesterday.

Detectives were still investigating the circumstances surrounding her disappearance as she was brought back to Teesside.

Mr Mohammed, who was with Samina's dad, Zahoor, 41, when he received the good news, said last night: "Her parents are very relieved. …
