RAGE IN THE ROAD; Dispute 'Good Samaritan' Hit Man with Vehicle, Court Told

A MOTORIST came to the aid of a woman involved in a car dispute then struck another man with his vehicle.

Paul Anthony Brown came into Park Lane, Middlesbrough, where a woman he knew was being confronted over allegations about a scratched car.

"He saw some kind of incident taking place," said prosecutor Gillian Milton. "There appears to have been a heated exchange."

There had been parking difficulties in the street, Teesside Crown Court heard, and people wanted the woman to stay in the street until the police arrived. She got into 45-year-old Brown's car and people started to follow the vehicle.

Theo Nasir, 36, arrived and stood in the road with his hands up to try to make Brown stop. "The vehicle stopped but moved forward again and hit Mr Nasir. He ended up on the bonnet," said Mrs Milton. Brown drove off. Mr Nasir had dislocated fingers and other injuries.

Brown, of St Aidan's Drive, Middlesbrough, admitted assault causing actual bodily harm on December 8 last year. …
