Brothers Look for Cup Revival

RUGBY LEAGUE: Brothers have revealed the new Mercury Cup coach they hope will help to turn the side back into a dominant force in 2010.

Former under 18 Foley Shield coach Mick Nielsen was appointed by club president Michael Harris earlier this week.

Nielsen was the assistant coach for the side when Ben Kerrisk took over mid-season in 2008, and Brothers went on to win their second consecutive premiership that year.

Harris said that previous involvement was a key part of Nielsen's appointment as it means "he is familiar with the club and the majority of the players".

The 2008 stint also has Nielsen looking forward to his further association with the club as head coach.

"It's a good club to be involved with," he said.

For Nielsen, the role with Brothers, where he replaces 2009 player/coach David Nixon, will provide him with a new challenge as it will be his first A grade coaching position. …
