THE clocks are changing - and that means it's time for the launch of the 2009/10 jump racing season at Newcastle Racecourse.

The equine stars come from all corners to Gosforth Park every year.

The Irish will lead the way on Saturday November 28 for the opening Grade 1 jumps race of the season in Britain - the pounds 100,000 WBX.COM 'Fighting Fifth' Hurdle.

And could the winner of the totesport Eider Chase go on to win the Grand National, as Comply Or Die did in 2008? It's half-term next week, and the racecourse opens its National Hunt racing programme on Thursday, offering an affordable autumn day out for families. Those aged under 16 gain free admission when accompanied by an adult.

After a further fixture on Friday, November 13, the top-class racing action really begins on Saturday, November 28.

As well as the 'Fighting Fifth' - which launches the pounds 1m WBX Hurdling Triple Crown, taking in the Christmas Hurdle at Kempton Park Racecourse in December and the Champion Hurdle at Cheltenham Racecourse next March - the other feature race, once again sponsored by the betting exchange WBX. …
