HER work is renowned throughout the Coast. The happy, joyful faces smiling out of her paintings have put happy, joyful, smiling faces on all who view them.

But like all artists, Denise Daffara has evolved, both as a person and as an artist, and she promises something very different for her next exhibition, which opens at the Tiffany Jones Fine Art Gallery in Buderim on November 8.

"My style has changed quite significantly," Denise said.

"This collection has come from a deeper heart space for me.

"They are a lot more dream-like and introspective. It's not as obvious to the viewer what it's about.

"There is an ethereal touch to these that there hasn't been before."

Still creating the signature ladies that have made Denise famous, the collection, titled A Golden Thread, shows many of the women with their eyes closed, as if they are sleeping or dreaming.

"This collection has a lot of women with their eyes closed and a lot of people are curious as to why," she said. …
