ANYTHING is possible with butter.

Having grown up in a generation where butter and salt are discouraged, it was hard to watch a movie where butter is the staple ingredient.

But the yellow fatty goodness symbolised much more than high cholesterol.

Julie and Julia is a fabulous tale of inspiration.

Two women in entirely different generations, separated by time and space, challenge themselves to become better women, and to make something of their lives.

They both succeed in writing memoirs, which have motivated people all over the world. Director Nora Ephron intertwined the two memoirs, of women who never meet, brilliantly, though the modern Julie was a little flat.

Julie Powell, in Queens in 2002, draws inspiration from Julia Childs - in Paris, Europe and the US in the 1940s and 1950s.
