Boy injured

CALLIOPE: A 15-year-old boy is recovering in Rockhampton Hospital after he was seriously injured when a dune buggy overturned.

The boy received multiple injuries in the accident on a property at Calliope at 11.30am yesterday and was treated at the scene by paramedics.

He was taken to Gladstone Hospital in a serious condition and was later transferred by ambulance to Rockhampton.

GLADSTONE: Unions in Gladstone are calling on residents to return the Facts and Myths literature sent out by the Queensland Government promoting its reasons for selling state assets.

Electrical Trades Union secretary Peter Simpson criticised Premier Anna Bligh's announcement to spend $1.9 million of Queensland taxpayers' money in the campaign.

"With consultancy fees and the infamous Hard Hat Tour, taxpayers are now looking down the barrel at an excess of $200 million spent convincing you that this is a good idea," he said.
