Racer Chases Home Win; Kane Aims to Maintain Hot Form at Charlton

TOOWOOMBA Lightning Sprint driver David Whell will be looking to continue his flying start to the season when racing kicks off at Charlton Speedway tonight.

Whell captured his first feature win in about three years in the opening round of the Lightning Sprints state series in Brisbane last weekend.

While he has been knocking on the door of victory for some time, he admits it was a relief to finally break through.

He is hoping he can continue his winning form on home turf tonight.

"It was a bit of a relief to get a win, because there's been a lot of seconds and thirds," Whell said.

"It would be nice to continue it this weekend, but it's probably more important to just have a good run and keep it straight."

Whell will be joined in the Lightning Sprints field by fellow Toowoomba driver Keith Blatch and newcomers to the class Scott Genrich and Jim Kennedy.

Australia's best super sedan drivers will also go head-to-head tonight. …
