OVER the weekend of October 24 and 25 girls' teams from across Teesside were in league action and produced some cracking football with goals aplenty.

In the Under-10s league Darlington Spraire Lasses entertained California Ladies and the away side ran out 2-0 winners.

Skelton United travelled the short distance to Redcar and ran out comfortable 6-1 winners against Teesside Athletic with Courtney Taylor hitting five glorious goals and Kate Miller netting the other. This result keeps Skelton Top of the league by a point over California Ladies.

In the Under-12 age group South Park Blues beat the traveling Teesside Athletic 5-1 with Sophie Wake netting Teesside's consolation goal.

Skelton United went down 2-0 at home to Middlesbrough Ladies Juniors and Kader FC played FC Kader and ran out 7-1 winners thanks to goals from Sophie Cambell (four), Gabrielle Catchpole (two) and Bethany Halliday (one).

Sophie earned the girl of the match award.

The final game in this group saw Teesside FC at home to Brompton FC and a 5-0 home victory due to Lois Harkin's superb five goals.

These results keep the battle for top spot wide open with Cali joint top with Kader FC on 12 points and Teesside FC just two points behind. If South Park win their two games in hand it gives them 12 points also.

In the Under-14 age group Redcar Town travelled to Nunthorpe Athletic and ran out comfortable winners thanks to Shannon Smith (two), Sophie Close and Cheyenne Drake.

California Ladies kept their top spot with a 2-0 home win over Beechwood Youth FC and Teesside Athletic's home 0-0 draw against South Park Rangers kept them joint second with Redcar Town.

Last weekend it was also league action and in the Under-10 league, California Ladies kept top spot with an emphatic 3-0 win at home to Middleton Rangers.

In the other match Teesside Athletic went down 1-0 at home to Darlington Spraire Lasses.

In the Under-12 league 41 goals were scored in just five matches.

Kader FC travelled to Brompton and ran out victors by an incredible 14 goals to nil.

Middlesbrough Ladies weren't far behind with a 9-0 home victory over South Park Rangers Blue with goals from Milly Bell (three), Samantha Stuart (three), Hannah Elisha (two) and Farnaby Millington. …
