IT IS your chance to show artistic judgment and prove you can discern a Grayson Perry from an unknown.

The Royal College of Art will this week exhibit around 2,400 postcardsized works from international masters to up-and-coming students.

All postcards at RCA Secret will cost [pounds sterling]40, a bargain for the chance to acquire work by Julian Opie, Wallace and Gromit animator Nick Park, Yoko Ono or shoe designer Manolo Blahnik. But the catch is that all works are signed on the back, meaning it is only after purchase that you discover who the artist is.

Previous lucky buyers have seen works go for 400 times the asking price later at auction. A Damien Hirst postcard sketch of a human skull bought in 2004 sold two years ago at Sotheby's for [pounds sterling]15,600. At the same auction a Peter Doig painting of a bearded man in a canoe sold for [pounds sterling]42,000. All funds raised will go towards supporting fine art students at the college. …
