Supremacy on the Line as Rep Vigoro Returns

SOUTH East Queensland supremacy is on the line when junior representative vigoro gets under way this weekend.

Ipswich takes on Fassifern in under-14 and under-18 pennants matches at Boonah's Coronation Park.

In the under-14 tussle, Ipswich comfortably won its corresponding match last season and coach Mel Park is again very confident, though she expects a fiercely-fought encounter.

"Against Fassifern there is always local pride on the line," Park said.

It is also a chance to stake a claim as favourite for the state titles in Ipswich in January.

"We did lose kids to the under-18s this year so this is a good preparation for them because it's different to club competition," Park said.

In captain Jessica Fox and vice-captain Yasmin Leeder, Ipswich's under-14s have two leaders hardened by open competition.

Both have been among Sports leading run-scorers in recent weeks in Division 1.

"My prediction is Jessica will be the next Heather Brooker," Park said, in reference to the former Occasionals star and Queensland captain. …
