THE Masters Section of Billingham Swimming Club competed at the ASA North Eastern Regional Open Masters at the Neptune Centre at Middlesbrough last weekend. Despite being in heavy training the competitors all produced personal bests.

Two youngsters competing in the 25 to 29 year age category were Clare Knox and Lorraine Riddle. Clare was triumphant with golds in the 200m free and I.M. and finished 4th in the 50m fly and free and 100m I.M. Lorraine produced silver in the 200m free and was fifth in the 100m free and back.

There were seven masters competing in the 50 to 54 age category. Guy Fawkes was a medal winner in all his events, he won gold in the 100m I.M. and fly and silver in the 50m free and fly and 100m free.

Gillian Sheehan was another gold winner producing gold in the 100m back and 200m free, silver in the 100m free and bronze in the 50m back, Gillian also swam the 50m free. …
