NEW businesses and retailers are putting their confidence in Yamba's growth, with several new additions to Yamba's CBD and Treelands Drive shopping precinct emerging after a long winter of uncertainty.

In addition to an increase in Yamba's profile as a tourist destination, the town's role as a business centre is also on the up.

Swapping the tourist bed for a kit home distribution company is Wynyabbie House's owners for the past eight years, Kay and Greg Perry.

The historic home built in 1888 has been a Clarence Valley tourist destination and the site of many weddings and functions for more than 25 years, but its owners have been winding down operation as a B&B for some time.

"We've loved it and have met people from all over the world, but when we saw this business opportunity come up, we decided to go for it," Mrs Perry said.

"I guess it may be a loss for the Clarence Valley," she said. …
