SANDRA Hall and her home bred 16.1hh eight-year-old black gelding Divine Expression by Dimaggio and out of an advanced event mare produced a double to take both Elementary 42 and 50 open dressage sections at Todburn Equestrian Centre.

Her horse, recently upgraded to elementary level, has been very successful in novice classes and while they have competed in several British Eventing Pre Novice sections this year, Sandra says: " I feel his talent lies in dressage which he seems to really enjoy and finds easy.

"In the first test he didn't feel really soft the way I like him but in the E50 felt really good throughout his test. I have training from John Hill who has helped a lot. We qualifed and competed in Novice Regional Championships Open Class at Ingleston and came 5th this year.

"We are also qualified for the Winter Novice Regionals 2010 and Combined Training Novice and Open Winter Championships at Hartbury in April 2010. "My aims for Winter is to try and qualify for the summer Championships at Elementary Level and hopefully to do some BSJA classes."

Following entry into the Sport Horse Breeding of Great Britain Head Stud book after grading at Homer Hill, her 16-yearold 7/8 TB advanced event mare Primative Expression by the well known eventing sire Primitive Rising and out of Miss Ellie has since been rated as one of the top ten mares in the country by the society.

An impressive test by part-time rider Daphne Jeans on the Alys Ferguson bred Joseph O Shannon led the combination to win the Novice 36 Open section.

The horse is by Carole Alder's sire Romany Jojo and goes back on dam's side to Alys' stud foundation Irish Draught brood mare Shannon.

In his first year of affiliated dressage achieved over 30 points with his owner rider Second-placed dressage Novice 36 open winner John Hill riding The Rainmaker also took the Novice 28 open section backed up by a 2nd place on Admiraal, a four-year-old Dutch bred by Percival.

John said about Admiraal: "The horse was sent to me 3 months ago by Daniel and Karrina Chambers with a view to being sold. After six weeks the horse was showing so much talent for dressage that we decided to syndicate him. …
