TOOWOOMBA sprintcar driver Peter Lack is determined to make an impression when the World Series Sprintcars roll into Charlton Speedway on Saturday night.

Lack was forced to make his way through the B Main final in the opening round in Brisbane at the weekend, winning it before brake problems saw him finish 12th in the feature.

The event was won by Brooke Tatnell, with Max Dumesny second and Ryan Farrell third.

He had run as high as ninth in the feature, but believes he has a car capable of matching the quickest in the field.

There is little between the field in World Series Sprintcars.

"This is one of the toughest years I've seen," Lack said.

"It's so tough that 0.3 of a second off has you mid-pack and that's where we were the other night. …
