Stacey Saddles Up for World Games in Texas

STACEY Bentley is off to Fort Worth, Texas for the Youth World Paint Horse Games after an outstanding year.

The 15-year-old is the junior-youth Australian champion in the sport which involves the breed of paint horses and several disciplines such as dressage, western pleasure and trail ridding.

She said she was aborn into the sporta as her mother, Helen, was an Australian champion and now a horse trainer.

The Year 10 Beerwah High student said the sport not only involved assessment as a rider but also the knowledge and ability to train a horse was taken into account.

Stacey had to write an essay which demonstrated her knowledge, involvement and achievement in the sport as part of the selection for the Australian team.

It was also based on a point score system from a range of shows throughout the year.

Stacey's essay was full of achievements as she was the High Point Junior-Youth winner at the Paint Horse National Championships held in Dubbo in April. …
