A REPEAT drink-driver described by a magistrate as "a danger to the public" will be behind bars for the next six months and off the road for at least five years.

Cassandra Lee Davidson cried as she was led into the dock of the Maryborough Magistrates Court yesterday.

Davidson, 40, was caught drink-driving twice on the afternoon of October 23. She was also disqualified from driving at the time.

Police received several calls from drivers who saw Davidson driving erratically on the Bruce Highway.

At 1.35pm she was pulled over at Glenorchy, south of Maryborough, and blew .195.

Police arranged for Davidson to catch a bus to Hervey Bay but instead she hitched a lift to her car, which was parked on the side of the highway, and continued to drive to Maryborough.

She was caught again once she got into town.

A breath test about 5pm showed an alcohol concentration of .109.

Prosecutor Senior Constable Steve Lord said Davidson had a history of drink-driving. …
