Central Highlands Youngsters Are on the Ball

CRICKET: There's no doubt that young Rockhampton cricketers were on the ball last weekend.

The competitors proved their worth to Central Highlands when they claimed the under-11 and under-13 matches in the Central Queensland Representative Carnival.

The games were battled out at in Emerald and when the under-13 teams met, Central Highlands won the toss and sent Rockhampton to bat.

Rockhampton was all out for 161 with a top score from Callum Chisholm, who scored a solid 32 runs.

Secretary of Rockhampton Cricket Bevan Crozier said the Rockhampton team bowled Central Highlands out for 69 runs, which saw Rockhampton finish off with a strong win.

"Our bowling was excellent, with Shannon Crozier, who took three wickets for 10, and Sean Walsh, who also took three wickets," he said.

"We also had very good fielding performance that kept the pressure on Central Highlands."

The under-11s also powered through their game and claimed 199 runs for nine wickets. …
