SERIES WITH HISTORY

With tonight's game, Jackson and Pensacola renew one of the state's oldest matchups. One that has been dormant for 57 years. According to the Pensacola News Journal, this will be the eighth meeting between the teams and the first since a 1952 game in the Gator Bowl. The squads first met 81 years ago at Legion Field in Pensacola. Frank Almon returned a punt 72 yards for the game-winning touchdown in Pensacola's 6-0 win. After going undefeated in 1926-27, the loss was the first for Jackson in school history. Here's a look at the series game-by-game.
