AN IPSWICH mother went into a doctor's surgery on Wednesday with one child and came out with two - after unexpectedly giving birth at the clinic to a daughter.

Brassall resident Vanessa Noyce had taken her son Maisyn, 5, for an appointment at the Raceview Surgery about 8.45 that morning.

Just twenty minutes later she delivered her two-week premature baby daughter Nikita Prickett, with help from the surgery's Dr John Curran and Dr Terry Kent.

Talking to The Queensland Times with healthy Nikita in tow, the glowing mum paid tribute to the doctors and staff at the surgery for helping her deliver her third child.

"In the morning I woke and felt something was going on, but the feeling wasn't strong and she wasn't due for 15 days, so I didn't go to hospital," she said.

"I took my son Maisyn to the surgery for an appointment, and from there it just happened so quick - I went into labour and she was born 20 minutes later. …
