Calendar Boys Turn Up the Heat to Help Kids

THREE Coast heroes are setting hearts on fire all over the country with the release of the 2010 Firefighters Calendar.

Maroochydore crew member Clinton King, aviation firefighter Chris Keong and Denis Donadel, of Nambour, were each chosen by a selection panel to appear in next year's calendar.

Organisers say there is a huge response every year from Queensland firefighters who believe they have what it takes to raise the temperature for a good cause.

It is estimated that close to $650,000 will have been raised for the Royal Children's Hospital Burns Centre by 2011 after 18 editions of the calendars.

Mr March, 35-year-old Clinton King, said the calendar's mission was one close to the hearts of all firefighters.

"You just never know who is going to be in that fire you are rushing into," he said.

Clinton said he met many young burns victims after presenting a $100,000 cheque to the unit earlier this year. …
