DURHAM CITY are facing a goalkeeping crisis ahead of tomorrow's bottom-three Premier Division clash at home to Frickley Athletic.

City have already used six different goalkeepers this season and the latest, Richard Heineger, is unavailable for the rematch with Frickley.

Experienced glove man Marc Riches has left the club, with Tow Law putting in seven days' notice of approach, and youngster Rhys Jobling has been withdrawn from the firing line.

Durham's 7-1 defeat at Hucknall last week saw the club pass the century of goals conceded mark in the league and a seventh different shot-stopper could be between the posts against the West Yorkshire side.

Manager Lee Collings will step up his bid to bring in an experienced goalkeeper - but time is against him.

He said: "I will be making a few phone calls and hopefully one of them will come up trumps.

"Apart from in goal, I have six players coming back and a stronger squad to select from."

Durham had been 1-0 up at Frickley in September when Riches was sent off for violent conduct. …
