Webster Unbeaten in Final Round to Win Fixtures in a Nail Biting Finish to Table Tennis

BLAKE Webster has taken out the term four junior table tennis round-robin.

The young gun won two of three major awards after winning his group in the final round and sneaking past Cong Tran, Travis McDermid and Max Mark.

His unbeaten effort on the day also reduced his handicap to -2, nine better than when he began the season and giving him the Biggest Improver award as well. Runner-up in this category was Steve Holledge who improved his handicap by six points.

In the third competition, for the most consecutive wins at any time during the season, Kingsley Parrott's amazing run of fifteen in a row was well ahead of the next best, Ned Freeman's nine.

Group winners last Friday were Blake Webster, Ryan Shelley, Trent Cieslar, Thomas Hopwood, Scott Fourro, Tim Richards, Matthew Davis and Steve Holledge.

Blake only lost one game in his three matches, beating Hannah Sunley 11/9 in the fourth game in a close battle.

Hannah, Travis and Kameron Chan all had tremendous matches against each other.

Ryan used his handicap (2) well against the low markers though he had to come from two games down to beat Kingsley Parrott.

Again the standard of play on this table, with Ben Freeman and Max Mark, was extremely good with many wonderful rallies.

Trent's unorthodox style was good enough to win on a count back from Austin Neil whom he beat in five games in the final match. Most of the six matches went to five games, with two decided at deuce in the decider.

Cong Tran beat Luke Spence 13/11 but went down to Trent 12/10. …
