BLACK Duck Valley trail bike and motocross park near Gatton is back in business, almost a year to the day it closed when owners failed to secure insurance coverage.

New co-lessee Steven Langdon and his family were regular users of the park.

"We were devastated when it closed down," he said.

"We used to come up from Brisbane four or five times a year.

"I personally think it's one of the safest venues around.

"We're installing a computer system so we can monitor everyone."

A new payment system that satisfies the park's insurers requires users to register before arriving.

No longer will users be able to "pay at the gate", as they did before.

"Black Duck will be open every day except Wednesday," Mr Langdon said.

"Although if someone wants to come up for a ride, they've just got to notify us.

"You have to become a registrant to get a card that opens the boom gates.

"It's a one-off payment and then an annual fee.

"For the people who ride regularly, they'll never ride cheaper. …
