Gympie golfer Ray Rigbye delivers the latest news from the Gympie Pines Golf Course.

AFTER a lengthy lay off from golf, Gympie Pines veteran Keith Johnson stunned his fellow players by shooting a sizzling 65 net on Wednesday to win the A Grade annual a[approximately]Medal of Medals championship.

Only players who have won a Monthly Medal competition during the last 12 months are eligible for the event.

It was an impressive return to the game by Johnston who has been holidaying overseas and hasn't picked up a golf club in nearly four months.
