NEPTUNE, Huey, or whoever your surf god may be needs a bit of a reminder for us here on the Queensland coast.

It has been another pretty miserable week surfwise and no end in sight on the radar.

And now the kids are on school hols any waves will be crowded, unless you pick your spot and check your time.

Summer can often mean still hot days, with light onshore or worse still, northerly breezes.

Summer also means sunburn and crowded beaches, so get out early or late to avoid too many rays and grommets.

Hopefully that beautiful cool southerly change is not too far away.

WHILE speaking all things summer, check out the new designs arriving in the shops.

Long longboards and short fat fish are the go, with some pretty new designs turning up at Reef2Beach at Agnes and The Last Wave in Gladstone.
