ROBOTS, aliens, giant hamsters and dolls that need to go potty are topping the Christmas wish lists and flying off shelves this Christmas.

Sharon Taylor, manager for toys at K-Mart, said the big seller for boys this Christmas was the Transformer Devastator.

"It's been flying off shelves," she said.

"It transforms into five different things and is definitely going to be under many trees this Christmas."

Ben 10 is proving popular again this year, with the Omnitrix the highest seller at Gladstone's Toy World.

As for the girls, Go Go Hamster is a big hit.

"It's sold so well there's none left in Queensland," said Ms Taylor. "As quick as they come in, they go. People are paying phenomenal prices for it online because no one's got any left."

Another popular choice for the girls is the Baby Born Potty set.

"You feed it and it goes potty," Ms Taylor said.

"It's been selling very well."

Ms Taylor said Barbies were making a comeback this Christmas after flat sales last Christmas.

"She's back to number one, probably because Bratz have died down," Ms Taylor said.

Lego is also high on the Christmas lists and Ms Taylor said all types of Lego have been selling fast.

"I can't get it out quick enough; it's just going off the shelves regardless of type or age group."

With not many sleeps left until Christmas, Ms Taylor said Gladstone residents had been shopping up a storm.

"They've been buying so much; as quick as I put it, they take it."

Extended Trading Hours

With Christmas only a few more sleeps away, Gladstone's shops will be extending their trading hours to allow shoppers more time to get their perfect Christmas gifts.
