SUNSHINE Coast council is on track to save $13 million in 2009-10 Co provided it includes a $1.4 million reimbursement for work done to clean up the oil spill earlier this year.

A council spokesman said $4.5 million had been saved by November, excluding the oil spill payment.

By December 31 the spokesman said council estimated savings would be about $6.75m, representing 50% of the full-year total.

One of the major contributors to the savings has been staff attrition.
